BLOG: Divine Appointments

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” Jeremiah 33:3

Jesus promised that when the Holy Spirit came, he would guide us into all truth (John16:13). How important for us to live in such a way that we are ready for Him to reveal things to us that we currently don’t know! Are you ready for a divine appointment?

Are there a few things you do not know? Is the sky blue?  We humans operate in this little window of time called ‘now’. We are earth bound and are oblivious to many realities flying by us all the time. A dog can smell something, but we can’t!

Isn’t it wonderful to know that the Holy Spirit of God lives inside of us, and HE knows what is really going on! I have been chatting anecdotally with three or four people this summer who have suddenly realized that they are in the middle of a ‘God moment’ – a holy coincidence – a divine appointment! I have experienced this myself – I hope at some point these stories can be made public. I have also chatted with one or two who have been in a building or situation where the Spirit said – “this is a bad place – get out of here.”

F.B. Meyer said: “The circumstances of our daily life are to us an infallible indication of God’s will, when they concur with the inward promptings of the Spirit and with the Word of God. So long as they are stationary, wait. When you must act, they will open, and a way will be made through oceans and rivers, wastes, and rocks.”

Make sure you are in church on September 11 as Rev. Dave Hearn is at the pulpit that day. Those of you who know Dave are familiar with his straightforward energetic style and his emphasis on daily partnership with the Holy Spirit.  You will be challenged to fresh Encounters with the Lord. I had previously mentioned a chapel service that evening, but we have decided to not hold it that evening – wait for another time…
