Serve at CAC
When you do the things you love, you’re surrounded by people who love the same things. Serving can build a community that God uses to bless people as we have been blessed.

What our community has to say about Serving
"Serving kids and at ‘The Grill’ showed me the joy of little things and teamwork."
Whenever I serve in the children's ministry, God reminds me to appreciate the little things in life. For a short time, you get to share in the kids' exuberance and curiosity, and it is a refreshing experience. It is also a privilege when parents allow us to spend time with their children and share in their journey with God.
At ‘The Grill’ I’ve been challenged to serve in a new way, and it has been amazing to make new friends and celebrate the variety of gifts everyone on the team brings to a fast-paced serving environment. Sharing ideas and lots of laughs as we work together on a mission to provide an opportunity for our church family to connect has been a truly worthwhile experience.
"Volunteering in children’s ministry turned my church into a true community."
I began volunteering in the children’s ministry about 4 years ago at Alliance. For me, I wanted a practical way to be involved and give back to a ministry that we were actively making use of with our own children. Serving in the kids wing has allowed me to do just that! I’ve been blessed to get a better view of how the children’s ministry is run, and I have been thankful to get to know so many more families than I would have if I just attended the main service every week. It has made our home church feel so much more like a community. I look forward to my times on the registration desk, being able to welcome kids and parents to the service!
"God equipped me, an unlikely volunteer, to serve the church through media."
Sometimes it only takes a simple question to get you to consider your level of involvement in the church. “Would you like to serve in this area of need?” I was asked if I would like to volunteer for the media team and upon consideration realized that I wasn’t serving my home church in a tangible way. “I guess; if you need people,” I replied reluctantly. Over the next several months I powered through the learning curve of a new skill: Computers which I’m not extremely literate. I thought to myself “ I am not the guy to do this job - I consistently get locked out of any computer account that requires a password and they’ve got me controlling the screen for the whole service?!” But God worked in my heart and changed my attitude over the past few years. He has shown me that he calls unlikely people to do his work and equips them to do it. I am grateful and honoured to serve (with tons of great people) the body of Christ where I can or don’t think I am able.
"Serving at Chilliwack Alliance, from worship to leadership, has deepened my faith and connection with God in unexpected ways."
Serving at Chilliwack Alliance has been such a meaningful part of my faith journey. Whether it's leading worship or serving on the elders board, I’ve found that giving my time and gifts has deepened my relationship with God in ways I never expected. Worship, especially, is how I connect with Him, and being part of a team that helps create space for others to encounter the Spirit is something I don’t take for granted. Volunteering isn’t just about what I can give—it’s about what God does in me through it. I’m grateful for the ways He’s shaped my faith through serving.
