Since coming to CAC in 2015, I have grown to love the people of this church, and the pastors/staff that serve here. Those who serve and gather here are warm, friendly and welcoming. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand how people are cared for in times of grief, loss and challenge – whether that be through challenge financially or through the challenge of a new little baby. People laugh together here, pray together here, and serve together here. Truly, we are fortunate to be surrounded by this amazing group! God has moved in the hearts of the people in this place. May it ever be so!
As the Senior Pastor, I get to work with the staff and the elders to pursue the mission of the church: “Going deeper and wider with God”. It’s a fantastic statement. It’s biblical, honouring to Jesus’ call, consistent with our movement’s history, and something that we actually seek to live out both locally and abroad. These are not just words for us, they form most of what we do.
On the family front, Sharilyn and I were married in July, 2002, and since then have added four amazing people to the world! Thomas (2004), Ella (2005), Katrina (2007), and Naomi (2008) are frankly fantastic, and we love them dearly. Sharilyn is musical and capable in so many ways, and serves in the church in her areas of gifting and passion. She even gets me out of the house to go hiking or to do the Promontory stairs! Hiking is one thing, but the Promontory stairs? I just… I don’t know… why the stairs? Together, we have served in Alliance churches in Kelowna, Auckland (NZ), and now Chilliwack. Truly, it’s been quite the adventure!
I’m glad that you’re looking into our church. I’d love to meet you.
